How To Configure A Yahoo Account On Microsoft Outlook

I'm trying to set up Microsoft Outlook so that I can read my various Yahoo mail address in one spot. So far no luck, wondering if anyone can be of assistance.
Step by step what I've done is:
File - Add Account - selected manually configure server settings and then selected internet email, clicked next.
Your Name: Kevin
email address: example@yahoo.co.uk
Server Info
Account Type pop3
incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
User name: example
I then press 'test account settings' two pop up boxes appear one called 'test account setting' that's immediately followed by a box requiring my user name and password for the server pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk.
When I enter the appropriate information I receive two error messages: 'Logon to incoming mail server (pop) - failed' and 'send test email message - failed'
I've altered no other settings.
Checking Google I'm beginning to get the impression that to be able to configure Yahoo mail in Microsoft Outlook I would need the plus version of Yahoo mail but as this is a paid service it's not on for my purposes.
Any suggestions as to what I might do or indeed will Yahoo let me read my mail this way. My workday email comes via Thunderbird.

Hi,
In Outlook 2007, it goes like this:
Click box "remember password".
leave the "require login using SPA".
Then click "More settings or Advanced"
Under "Outgoing Server" click "my outgoing server SMTP requires authentication.
Then select "use same settings as my incoming mail server".
Then test email settings, see if that works!
Hope this helps!:)0
