Repairs to run down property

I know this might be a difficult one to answer but can anyone give me some ball park figures on what it takes to do repairs to a house.

Talking a big old house, 5 beds, part 16/17th century and part 18th century. Any idea how much it might cost to get a house re-wired? Floor joists replaced (gulp)?

Im not expecting accuracy but like £5k for a rewire or £10k or £15??????

Ta.

He asked about the Joists. The floorboards would have to come out anyway so he's looking at the whole floor.

At a rough guess he should budjet for around £1500 to £2000 per room, depending on size and what stud walls there are that are built straight onto the joists. If the whole ground or first floor is to be done at once this could come down a bit

It is a rough guess. Without seeing the property it's hard to be more accurate. But we're not talking a few hundred - I know that :)

    Thanks Arran.

The only thing is the floors sag quite dramatically. I think it probably the joists that need replacing not just the boards.

    Thanks for that Hugo.

I knew it would be more than a few hundred.... I was just a bit worried it might be hundreds of thousands
