Nice to see only certain posts getting deleted mods ;)
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!
  • First of all i am sorry i was wrong about the t.v.
My husband rang me earlier saying he was going to search for the t.v what was on here ! then he rang later saying he was at tescos and found the t.v,s and that the sel was £ 799.97 and that he had it scanned at it scanned at £13**.**, so we thought we was go to a goodthing.so i decided to share it.(big mistake)so he went away borrowed the money and went back. But tescos had stacked the t.v,s in the shelves under the wrong labels. So i was wrong and i am sorry, but at least i can admit that i was wrong.

Did your husband not triple check that the SEL *matched* the TV that he scanned?

OMG are you serious? The tv thing was a pile of steaming sh!te !?!?!? OMG I have honestly never been more shocked in pretty much all my life. I was certain this one was going to be a winner. It had all the makings of a great r&r opportunity.
    • Big Screen TV - CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Drip feed of information - CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • All comes to nothing as expected - CHECK CHECK CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only one thing left to say .... can we all stop holding our breath now until the next reputable first time poster posts about a possible tv misprice, "but just hold on a minute whilst I get all the details and can fully confirm,...oh wait it was a con" comes along and takes the !!!! again.

(thankfully this wind up was so incredibly poorly executed and tediously unoriginal that it was quickly snuffed out .... any future BS won't be tolerated and would be perpetrators should expect a good firm smiting from the heavens!)

    Hi Chickadeehogey,

somebody posted last night that there are 2 models of Sony TV -model number difference being U and V (cant remember who, might have been 306notout-apologies if this wrong person!)
please dont be put off by the reastion to your post, its just unfortunate timing that you posted half a story after last nights shenanigans. well done for trying, but maybe next time wait till you know the full story and have your R&R:D

You might say this has been a baptism of fire, and you wouldn't be far from the truth. I am glad that you are man(I say this knowing that you are actually female) to admit when you are wrong. Your apology is not required, maybe a little advise for future is to double check any big ones before you start posting, this should at least keep the hounds from foaming at the mouth.;)

Welcome chickadeehogey, heres wishing you many successes.:D
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

I think the tv is a genuine one guys, sel £799.99 but scanning over a £1000. let you know more later!!!!!
Just a quick word of advice ....

If this is the sonys discussed last night with just a V or U in the model No
    ie .....
    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-7991.aspx

    and

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-7290.aspx

Then in my experience when going for an R&R on large TVs etc even if its a definite and the CS don't argue they always say you got a free TV provided you were given the correct TV for the SEL.

You have to take the TV back and let them check the barcodes. Refund only goes ahead if everything matches up.

Therefore even if they've got the models a bit mixed up on the shelf I doubt you'd get the R&R.

Of course you could be lucky and get a CS/manager who can't be bothered to check.

If anyone manages it or has different experiences please post to let us know.

EDIT: Oh well they found out the hard way ! Better Luck next time.

Posted this yesterday, but it got lost amidst all the essential pruning being done by the moderators.

The "Sony 32" KDL32U2000U HD LCD TV" is 799.79 and the Sony 32" KDL32V2000U HD LCD TV" is 1299.97. One letter difference, very easy for customers and staff to mix them up, but it would never hold up to the scrutiny it would receive if someone tried to R&R, as Mr. Chickadee has found out.

Now let's all get back to normal :grouphug:

I can vouch for chickadeehogey as I introduced this member to R&R a few weeks ago.

I have had some telephone communication with them & this is a potential, but I will stress potential as I have not seen or scanned the item myself. They won't even tell me the make & model,

just that it's a big TV

    Good luck chickadeehogey !

This post confuses me no end .... could chickadee really be genuine?!?! Surely not!? OMG IF THEY ARE!

Anyway I'm not convinced that's for certain.
