Car Scrapping in penarth/cardiff

Hi

My old rover has failed its MOT and it needs to be scrapped, any one have any ideas how i can do this? ive never done it before

Donate it to your local college that has a car mechanics course.

there was athread on here about donating to the Fire Service so they can practice cutting them up.

when our old car died a while back, we sol ditfor scrap. they came and towed it away, and then sent us the relevant legal documents through the post to prove the car had been destroyed.

i should imagine cardiff or vale of glam council can point you in the right direction :beer:

hi.... you could sell it for scrap.......the value of scrap is up at the mo......in the swansea area a scrappy can get £75 per car for weighing it in......

i had a few dead cars outside where we live, and we regularly get the scrap man coming round wanting the cars..... first of all they say they will take it away for nothing,,,,, then they offer £20..... but then i tell them that scrap is high at the mo....so they end up giving me £40......per car

if you dont get any one coming round.... look in your local paper, as there is normally adverts for scrap cars wanted.... and ask how much they give.......

at the end of the day.... if its going to go to the big car park in the sky you might as well get some money for it......

or strip it and sell the good parts on ebay.......as i know some peeps make a fortune in second hand car parts on ebay......

Cardiff Council will take it away for free, if you go to the website and fill in the form or call connect2cardiff.

Here are the options;

Break it for spares and sell them either via e bay or freeads.
Do the above but insist that buyers bring their own tools and remove bits themselves
Donate it to a good cause ie college or fire station
Put it on Freecycle.org - "spares or repair"
Freeads or e bay "Spares or Repair"
Find someone that's into stock car racing - he'll strip it out and prepare it.
Use it to build a kit car "WOW" I don't know of any kit cars that would use any rovers but there must be some.
