Can I demand a refund from Argos - faulty Washing Machine?

I bought a Beko washing machine from Argos which got delivered on 21/4/11. I have only used it 3 times, the last time I used it on Sunday 1/5/11, one of my top sleeves at the bottom has 4 holes in it, grey dusty stuff on it and looks stretched like it's been pulled. I callled Argos yesterday straight away, who have just given me Beko's number to call tomorrow when they are open and get an engineer out to see what the fault is and decide on repair/replacement.

After only having the washing machine for 11 days, I am so annoyed and actually just want Argos to come and take it away and give me a full refund. Is there any way I can get them to do this??

As i'd only had the machine 11days, I certainly am not happy with them doing a repair on it and dont want a replacement as I have lost faith in the brand if it can destroy my clothes.

How is the best way of going about getting a full refund, so I can choose a difference brand elsewhere?

take it back to the shop and say you want to reject it under the SOGA.

Or rather go back to the shop first and see if they wil ltake it. and then take it back later or get them to pick it up.

A friend had a faulty washing machine from Argos, it went wrong within about 6 weeks. they sent an engineer out to see it, he agreed it was faulty and arranged for replacement to be sent. she was able to keep and continue to use the faulty one until the replacement was delivered.

She was content with the replacement, and content with the service from Argos, but I'd've thought after such a short space of time, that a refund should be no problem.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Thanks, So you think I am within my rights to expect my money back rather than a replacement?

Cannot get the washing machine to the shop (no vehicle, but had to have it delivered anyway). Do you think going into store is a better approach than speaking to their telephone customer services? Will I get more done this way?

Should I still call Beko tomorrow and arrange an engineer to come out?
