Living room refurbishment - but what about laminate floor?

We are considering various changes to our sitting room, including fitting new french doors, putting in a new fire surround and knocking back some internal walls that jut out into the room.

The big problem is that we have a laminate floor laid which we are quite happy with and can't really afford to replace. The alterations would expose some areas of the floor which would then need to have laminate floor laid.

Is there any way of putting new pieces of laminate in without replacing the whole floor? The laminate goes out into the hallway too so it would be a major job if we had to do that.

If you have spare laminate left then you might be able to do that - alternatively try and get a joiner to do it for you. Or you could just buy a rug to go over the top! Best of luck.

Providing yo have some of the original laminate, it can be done. However, to do it properly, you have to take the floor up as far back as the bits you are trying to cut in. Then put in whole pieces and relay as normal. If you don't have the original, then its really a non-starter
