Help with printing photos query

I have tried to print a photo from my pc which was taken by my iphone4.
I have set the printer options to print photo, on inkjet paper, size 6"x4"(102mm x 153mm).
When it prints out on the photo paper it prints the image very small - 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" (90mmx30mm).
I can't seem to get it to print the whole photo on the 6x4 paper.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
Many thanks.

Are you printing directly off the iPhone or are you saving them onto PC first? If the latter, make sure you change the printing properties to the desired size0

Many thnks for the reply.
I'm saving it to the pc first and then printing.
I have set the printer options for document type (best photo), paper type (inkjet paper), paper size (6x4) and it still comes out as a tiny picture.
Any suggestions from others would be welcome.

Does the programme you use to open the picture also have paper size settings?
If you right click the printer, click printer preferences, have you got a borderless option, if so, select that
You could also get irfanview, open the picture with that, click print, then put the dot in stretch to page
If you get irfanview, the plugins are worth having
