Cant transfer credit card balance, help!

I've got just under 1K on my credit card and the 0% runs out next month so want to transfer it somehwere else till i pay it off. Ive got a barclaycard card (its the one with the oyster built in) and managed to get it even tho im just a housewife.
I've tried my bank and a few others but no one will accept me for a balance transfer or another credit card. I would try one in my husbands name but hes clearing debt from before we met so dont think it would help.
Our current account is joined so i do have an income on paper but wondered if anyone was in the same situation or could point me in the right direction as ive never done balance transfers before!
