Timberland Boat Shoes - Trying to get repaired or replaced question

Hi,

I currently own a pair of Timberland Boat shoes that i purchased in June last year for £90 at a retailer called Base in the Bluewater shopping centre. I have only worn the shoes very little and kept them in the best condition possible however the leather has torn on the top of them. I don't feel that they have lasted anywhere near long enough to warrant such a high price tag.

I have emailed Timberland and waited 14 days with still no reply so sent a follow up email and as of yet still have received nothing (a furthur 7 days has passed). In the email I scanned the receipt and took pictures of the shoes showing their current condition and the damage that they have sustained.

I would be grateful if anyone has any advice as to what i should do next to pursue the issue or if i have done the right thing so far. Also if anyone has dealt with Timberland would be good to hear of your experiences.

Thank you for your help

I stopped buying them years ago. My first pair lasted years & years. During that time, the Timberland brand became very much better known and had branched out into all sorts of merchandise. I bought my second pair and they lasted less than 2 summers. I haven't bought them since as their product quality is nothing like what it was originally. I started buying the Clarks ones. No designer name but they last Ok and, more importantly, were the only ones I could find which were the proper manufacture and had the laces running all the way through the back of the shoe so you could tighten them if the backs started slipping up and down.

I bought them along time ago too and they replaced the same pair three times over, great customer services back then - alas like above, the far east came in and it got worse.

...but give them a call and see what they say...

OP, what did the retailer have to say when you reported the problem to them?
