Touche Eclait - well similar!

Back in the days b.c. (before children :rotfl:) I was a regular user of touche eclat, and swore by it.
As purse strings tightened, I followed magazine recommendations ('half the price, for the same effect!' type recommendations) and started using No 7 concealer.
Frankly, it did the same job in terms of covering up the dark circles under my eyes. It was less 'runny' and more 'gloopy' (don't you love the technical terms? :rotfl:) but it worked for me.
As purse strings tightened even further, I followed other magazine recommendations and got the Collection 2000 'brush style' concealer. Guess what? It covered up those dark circles as much as they're ever going to be covered up these days.
Every now and then I'd get a gift of touche eclat ('you use this stuff don't you?' - who says romance is dead? :rotfl::rotfl:). It just seemed to highlight those bad-boy shadows under my eyes. Maybe it's an age thing.
Then, one day I ran out of concealer :eek:. In desperation, I rummaged through the stuff I'd bought on special offer and put aside for hampers...
Turns out that, nowadays, Boots' Natural Collection concealer takes the edge off my dark circles better than anything else I've tried.
I will try the Aldi concealer (since it comes recommended).
However, I am now a fully paid up member of the "You're paying for the brand" club when it comes to Touche Eclat.0 -
Anyone remember pan sticks? I bought one over a year ago just to try out (I think it was only £5, and had ran out of my regular under-eye concealer) and it's still going strong! Great coverage & colour, and it's thick / solid at room temperature so you only need to dab a small amount off the end each time and just blend it well onto the skin. That would be my MSE contribution to this thread! Don't be wooed by the glossy adverts!
(PS, I always used to use twist-up under-eye concealers, including the Collection 2000 brush-style one which worked well for me, but for the relatively little amount of time that they last I don't consider any of them good value any more, even the cheaper ones. )0 -
Just to add that Aldi lipstick is also wonderful, my fave lipstick ever and I've tried a LOT. Also, if they still do it their manicure set is fab too. Finally, a good tip for concealer if anybody doesn't know this is to use your ring finger to blend it in, if you use your index finger you generally rub too hard and either end up rubbing it in, or off. If you use your ring finger you don't press as hard and it covers those dark circles a lot better!0

I've just been and bought the Aldi one. Very impressed with the packaging but we'll see what my eyes look like later!
I'm loving all the cheap dupes lately!
Anyone know of any mega cheap makeup brushes that don't shed?If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!0 -
I have done a big Aldi make- up shop. My verdict. The eye highlighter is pretty amazing for £3. One of the best rivals to the YSL one. I found it a bit powdery when dry so it's sits in my wrinkles a bit more than the touch! !clat. I still think Touch Éclat wins as the best under eye highlighter but the Aldi one comes a very close 2nd. Savannah is the best colour - the other light colour is a bit pink. Well worth a visit to Aldi.
The Aldi volume mascara is pretty good but not a patch on Benefit Fat Lash so think
I will stick to my Benefit mascara. The packing on the mascara is high quality and feels much more expensive than what I paid for it.
The face serum is okay. Nothing special. Packaging is nice and it will last for ages as you only need a tiny amount.
I aldo bought their posh conditioner which was about £2.50 and it's great. Lovely packaging, smells good and left my hair lovely and soft. I would buy more of this.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
I just popped into my local lloyds at lunch, they had the 'touch of light' in the buy 1 get 2 free basket £1.25 for 3!!! Now that has to be worth a go!0
