Egg card and payments

Hello long time lurker first time poster :)

Want to confirm something before my partner makes a purchase, my partner has an egg card with an 1800 limit, she had a balance of 600 yesterday and paid off it off around mid day, now she was thinking she could go today and make a purchase of 1700 before the payment is credited to her account and pay it off next week, today being a bank holiday i don't think the money she paid yesterday would clear until Thursday at the latest, if she made a purchase today of 1700 would she go overlimit before the money she payed yesterday is applied to her account ? would they both tie in and no overlimit charges would happen ?

Hope you understood.

Thanks
Si

Can she not just log in to her Egg card account & see what her available balance is? If the payment has cleared it should be available, if it hasn't, it won't be!
  • Yes but her payment yesterday is not showing, she says she could make a payment today of 1700 and it would tie in with her payment going in on Wednesday or Thursday so she wouldn't go overlimit but i think she will go overlimit as soon as she makes the payment if it even goes through, she disagrees, im just trying to prove to her that her concept is wrong and she will end up charged or it could affect her credit history.
