Hey, hang on, lets not get in such a state, there's nothing here that can't be fixed. Honestly please don't talk about committing suicide, that's not the answer.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

You won't go to prison for that.0

I think this needs moving to the Benefits Thread really though, more people can advise there who may be experienced in this situation.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

When you made your claim you agreed to tell them anything that may affect your claim to benefit, you didnt, and that is why they have called you in.
The worst they will do is raise an overpayment against you but if the amount earned was less than the limit then they might not even do that.0 -
Isn't an interview under such circumstances pretty much a 'now you do understand that you need to tell us anything next time and we will decide if it's relevant, don't you?'.
They don't send people who deliberately con thousands upon thousands to prison, so it's not going to happen for a couple of hours a week keeping an eye on the dinner queues or reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Put the thoughts of hurting yourself out of your mind. It's not going to happen. Your OH can't have you do that to yourself; that would be the greater crime, to leave her without your care.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

!!!!!! you have not committed the Great Train Robbery, please dismiss any thoughts about prison and suicide. It will not come to that.
Take advice as to whether or not to attend the interview under caution.
Personally I would not go for the simple reason if they had firm evidence they would be at your door. I reckon they are looking for you to incriminate yourself.
I personally would not go."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -

I'm not sure that advising someone to get specialist advice before voluntarily taking action that might well lead to self incrimination can ever be regarded as a bad idea.
As Spartacus_Mills says, it might be fishing expedition (or not) and they might be looking for self incrimination (or not) and going (or not) might be the right thing to do (or not)
A specialist who knows the law, procedures and full circumstances will be able to advise the best course of action for the OP (one thing I can guarantee is that it won't involve suicide and I'd bet my house on it not involving prison either)0
