Joint account

Hi All :hello:

I don't often venture in to this part of the woods, but i need your help :)

I need to get a joint bank account with my partner asap so we can pay money in to it for our rent and bills.

I have looked on the HSBC website (as that is who i bank with), but i cant find any information on joint accounts

My partner has had a bad credit rating in the past couple of years, but it seems to be ok now (his credit check was fine when we applied for our new flat and also for a new phone contract) so i am concerned we wont be able to get a joint account?

He is with Nationwide, and to put it politely, they have been crap with him. He is over 20 and they wont let him have a debit card!!!! Even though his credit rating is ok now.

So, i really want to get a joint account away from Nationwide!!

Any suggestions? Sorry this is a rather long winded post :rotfl:

i got a joint account with my wife last year we used barclays, she had a barclays account already and they just added me to it, my credit record was utter crap i couldnt get sod all but for some reason if my wife applys for anything and has me as second card holder everything is fine even credit cards

my credit rating is ok now though but maybe you could do the same open a bank account in your name and have him as second card holder

barclays do a bank account where you just recieve a bank card no elctron not even a link card just a plain card that can only be used in barclays cash machines so if its just an account for bills maybe you could use this

    Thanks prenton01 :)

I would like him to be able to use the card because at the moment if he doesnt have any cash on him he is using our credit card! Which i really want to stop before he ends up spending too much!

But if worse comes to worse, any kind of joint account is better than none :)
