Tap siting - how far from pipe?

Help please; is there any reason why can't I site a tap (using flexible hose to copper pipe) approx 70cm from the pipe? The flexible connectors supplied with the tap aren't long enough so I'm going to have to buy some more anyway.

Thought I would ask the question before I go for it!

No reason why you can't use a flexible connector but the distance will depend on the length of flexible that you can buy. 500mm may be the maximum length, there may be longer ones out there somewhere. However you do it, it is a simple enough bit of plumbing.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

The obvious answer is to extend the copper pipe to bring it within reach of the flexibles which (I assume) are attached to the tap.

    But without more detail ...
  • 300mm tends to be the max production length made for monoblock flexibles & 500mm for 1/2" & 3/4" flexibles.

Longer ones may be out there but not in regular places.

Keep the flexis as short as possible and extend the copper - anything else is a bodge. Flexis are horribly restrictive to flow and if you are trying to clag a monobloc onto a low pressure system - yes it may say suitable for operation down to 0.X bar but it won't say that the flow rate will be total carp - then standby for trouble anyway.

as above. its far better to extend the copper pipe first, then add the flexi for the last bit.
extending the copper pipe is simple enough. easy diy job.
