Is there anything I can do to ensure we exchange this week??
After a very long saga , our vendors sols say they should be ready to exchange this week and complete next Thursday 14th.
We have everything in place for exchange and my buyers and their buyers are also ready.
We cannot book a removal company until we have exchanged and the date is definite.
The trouble isthe vendors sols are reputedly slow and hardly ever return our sols phone calls or give her any info and we are just told by our vendors that they hope it will all happen this week.
Is there anything i can do apart from phone my solicitor to check on progress??

In this situation, it would be best if the vendors leant on their solicitor. After all, they are the client and the sol should be providing them with the service they require.
You will always play "second fiddle" to the clients when dealing with their solicitor, so make sure the vendor is committed and really wants to go ahead.
Is there an estate agent? If so, you could lean on them too

Thanks.Vendor is calling his sols every day and I have been calling the EA every other day,to the point that they are getting annoyed i think!!!!
I feel like saying to them that wouldn't they be annoyed if they had taken at least 250 days to move house!!!
I just can't wait for it to be over now.0 -
Try to find out if there is anything outstanding that they require to exchange. If they've got everything, it maybe that they are just slow. Be careful of too many people phoning them, I know some solicitors who go slower if they get loads of call. Some weird power trip it would seem.
Hope you get it sorted, I haven't been on here for a while & can't believe you haven't moved yet.0 -
Its been a day of phone calls and finally been told that we are due to exchange this Thursday with completion next Thursday.
Everybody apart from top chain can get removal company and top chain still trying,so hopefully will work out.
I won't believe it til it happens as we have been in this situation twice before with exchange looming!!!0
