DD looks amazing in the dress. It's a US size 4 and has to be taken in and with her 5"inch heels and gorgeous long flowing hair she looks stunning. It's just a bit of customisation will mean no one else will have exactly the same dress. Many have spend hundreds of pounds on their prom dresses but as a MSE I couldn't see the point!

I'm not sure what the issue would have been with sewing the crystals on. I used to do some work for a bridal dressmaker sewing swarowski crystals on wedding dresses. You have to be careful, take your time, have clean hands and regularly change to a fresh needle, but as long as your stitches are tiny there's nothing that would ruin it. I'd be more worried about glue than stitches.

I've bought a hot fix wand from ebay for £16.50 which comes with some free stones for me to experiment with.

The sewing on was an issue because I wanted a colour on black fabric and it's hard to hide the stitches. She said she could do it but it would be very time consuming and expensive. Her suggestion was to buy a large flower and attach at waist but DD wasn't keen on that. She fancies some glitter to match her sliver/diamonte shoes!!!

    Hi Poppy
Where did you get the dress from and what does it look like? My dd has her prom next year so am starting to have a little look around out of interest.
    Thanks

Black. Not a colour we were looking for but DD looks stunning in black as she's pale skinned and very blonde and wears it well. We had planned on a blue/turquoise/green dress but couldn't find one that suited her. When she firs saw this dress she wasn't keen but when she put it on it was just her!

Photos will be coming soon. Prom still over 3 weeks away but today we attached some stones. Well I say "we" but DD did it herself after I burnt my finger!

She's done a lovely job attaching about 100 crystals but thinks she might attach some more.
