In full time employment and DLA

Hi
Can anyone tell me if you can claim DLA whilst working fulltime. I have severe arthritis in legs, and apart from the pain I am spending a fortune on pain killers, or do they class it as part of wear and tear
thanks in advance for any replies

If you have care/mobility problems you can apply for dla the diagnosis is secondary to the claim working full time does not prevent you claiming many ppl do claim dla and it is not an out of work benefit

Yes you can claim DLA. Also if you get working tax credits, you would be eligible for the disability component worth up to £5k a year.

While you can claim DLA whilst working, I think your first course of action should be to get a prescription pre-payment certificate. For £104 per year, you won't need to pay for any other prescriptions.

You can order online, at https://www.ppa.org.uk/ppa/ppcdd/patient.do

DLA is for care and mobility needs, not just because you are in pain, claim but dont hold your breath.

    Go for it!

Receipt of DLA is based on health needs, not on income so you can claim.
Just to add however that being in receipt of DLA does not qualify you for free prescriptions (dunno if this is what you were thinking or whether you just meant the extra cash would be handy).
Also if you receive the Higher rate of Mobility Component of DLA you can get a mobility car in lieu of the cash. I'm not 100% sure on the ins and outs of all that but if you are succesful in your claim then its something th,at may be worth looking into.

    Best of luck :)
