Removal of mywebsearch and cursor mania please

Mywebsearch - This seems to be pre-installed on my kids netbooks - can I remove it? I have managed to turn it off of one but so far not the other and I cannot find it now. However, the program still remains and I would like to remove it. Malware picked up over 250 tracking cookies from this.

Cursor mania - I have deleted it from the toolbar and cannot find it to set it back to the default icon. I cannot find the program in the control panel - can someone tell me how I can remove it or find it please.

This is on 2 different laptops, one has the cursor mania and the other mywebsearch but they are both still on there somewhere.

Run a HiJackthis log on both machines and post the results.
I've seen it on here before and someone will be able to tell you how to remove both but I'm not 100% sure how it's done and don't want to give any wrong advice.

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)

Thanks, somehow I have found the programs and unhidden them and delted them - I just came back to post here. Going to clean both of them later on today, they are just doing updates at the moment (they have not been shut down for a while). Going to do the Malbytes scan at least once a week now.

Bloody things. Going to see if I can block some sites to stop the kids clicking on them but I did not have time this morning.

Theres a very high chance that mywebsearch is still on both computers
Id seriously recommend malwarebytes and post the logs etc

When removing MyWebSearch it is vital to delete all parts of the MyWebSearch code as MyWebSearch will rebuild itself and will result in further spreading of the spyware parasite.


Download the 30 day trial of Revo Pro and do a forced uninstall.
