At least the council tax payer can see how much is being spent on defined benefit pensions pensions and there is a pension fund to buffer the increases.

Now shall we debate the Civil Service pensions and compare them with the Local Authority ones?

No it hasnt failed, theres much more to it, anyway the original poster wants to know when to pay his illegal tax so I told him not too and if he in two minds i told him to save the monthly payment and follow the process.

This is a very simple thing to understand, but I can see you are having trouble with it, so I will try explain it for you.

This is a pretty standard definition of giving consent by the fact that you are using the services provided.

Just the same as people that for example take out a phone contract online and do not ever actually sign any contract or anything. Merely by the fact that they have taken out the contract and are using it, means they have given consent and accepted the contract.

So if you use any of the services that are paid for by council tax, you are giving consent and agreeing to pay for those services. If you don't pay you will be held accountable for it.

There is no argument you could use to justify your views, except maybe that if you don't pay council tax, you do not use any council tax funded services. But it appears that you are using the services, but just not paying for them!

You posted the video, the video showed that the case was decided against the defendant, and the bailiffs were being sent round.

Actually the reason you don't pay is because you have been duped.

You saw a video on Youtube and have decided to believe this, rather than the actual court judgement which was decided against the defendant and the bailiffs were sent round.

OP if you want the bailiffs sent round to your house, follow the advice of james2005.

It is not an illegal tax and the grounds for its legality are quite clearly set out in the appropriate legislation.

What your suggesting is that someone should break the law. That's not advice anyone should be volunteering on a consumer interests forum.
