Partner looking for work - On IB

My partner has started looking for work and so far has been pretty successful at finding jobs and applying for them. He has two interviews next week.

We are just wondering whether we should phone the job centre and tell them he is looking for work to save any problems later. He has been on Incapacity Benefit since October 2008.

Should he try and claim JSA (contribution based) or continue on IB until he finds something. He is actively looking every day and I don't think it will be too long before he can find something. xxx

If he's able to work then I think he ought to have told the DWP of his change in circumstances as obviously his health must've improved. They won't necessarily make him sign off IB and go on to JSA but I think it's a good idea to let them know.
You can do 'permitted work' on IB but by the sounds of it this isn't want he's applying for?

It's great that's he's feeling well enough to go back to work :)
