Bank holiday Monday 2nd May - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hiya,

Hope no one minds me starting the thread again today, I'm still in bed but can't sleep again so doing this from my phone!

Today I plan to:-

  • [STRIKE]Heating off[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Food from stores[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Log any expenditure on free app - hoping for a NSD today[/STRIKE] - LSD instead
  • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Do some baking[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Check emails & online banking[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Washing on Eco setting[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Hang up to dry[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Check eBay[/STRIKE] - Another watcher, no bids or anyone wanting to come & see it though...hmm.
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

    Good morning all

Hope no-one minds me chipping in again. OH and I have decided that this month will be the month where we budget, try not to spend too much and generally get our lives in order!!:rotfl: This thread is great for ideas on how to cut down in small ways so thought I'd join again.

    Anyway....todays efforts:

    * One lot of washing at 30'c
    * Line Drying
    * LSD - just need bread (from grocery money set by for this week)
    * Walk to shop for bread instead of drive
    * Storecupboard lunch and dinner from mealplan
    * Do any one-poll surveys that come through
    * Sort some stuff ready for ebaying

    Miss P
    xx

Morning everyone :D been MIA again :o over the past couple of days, but I now have a much bigger garden :j having accosted some from the house next door (family owned and now unused) so I have lots more room for the veggies :T:T Sadly it's waist high in nettles :( but it shouldn't take much to get rid of that lot! As a Brucie Bonus we found a stray asparagus plant.... so that was very exciting :D (doesn't take much! :rotfl:) I'm going to go to the cinema with DS today as work can wait until tomorrow :D

Back to the job in hand... Today I need to:

    Check internet banking
Heating is off (although a little chilly last night!)
    Quick clean in the kitchen
Read the electric and gas meters...
    All meals from stores
    Wash at 30
    line dry
    iron later
ATTACK the garden..... I may be gone some time with that one!

Nothing interesting there though I'm afraid ladies.... Hope you all have a great day :D

    Good morning,

So I've spent a good few years lurking and getting by. Now I'm bored of getting by so, please can I join to help keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Today I will:

    - post here
    - weed the fruit bed at the allotment
    - get as much washing done as possible (two teenagers, one OH all of whom do loads of sport - think chinese laundry)
    - make rhubarb and ginger jam - rhubarb from allotment, ginger from fridge
    - store cupboard lunch, meal plan dinner
    - lots of OU study
    - only buy sugar at the supermarket

    That's it for today.

    Have a great day.
