HELP! Now reduced item after paying full but still not delivered

Hi all, Really hoping for a quick answer on this one. I ordered a new bed from a dept store for £129.99, I requested to collect it from the store and was told 10-14 days. Was ordered on 13 April, so technically as the shop gets Sat delivery's and taking out the bank holidays, today (Mon) is the 14 day deadline. After numerous calls, with no callbacks or any contact/update from the shop I was told it 'should' be by the end of this week. But I have discovered since yesterday the bed has been reduced to £99.99!!! So basically can I still be expected to collect the bed and take home for the higher price even though it is in the store on the actual day I take it home £30.00 cheaper. My receipt clearly states 10-14 days and the £129.99 is on receipt as deposit paid in full. So can I be cheeky and ask for it at the reduced price and get a refund for the £30 odd quid, are they obliged, or do I have to go down the 'they haven't stuck to the delivery time' and request a full refund, and then go back and get the bed £30 cheaper AND it actually be in stock. ?? Help very much appreciated as I need to resolve obviously before they get the bed!! Thank you if you have taken the time to read this. :o

Well I'm not going to go back in to reorder. My mum offered!! Saying that, I told her if she leaves it until the end of the week the original one I ordered should be in the shop and she can take away there and then. It just annoys me that I have waited 2 weeks, called numerous times and even went into the shop, then they reduce the price and I get ripped. Grrr. But saying that I have read that I can ask for refund on the 'delivery time' thing, I don't really want to go charging in there tomorrow and they get funny and they say tough. But it's soooo annoying. Thank you for your answer though DCFC79 :) I think I will try the delivery thing first, then just mention the disappointment of it now being reduced, see how I go.

I make Friday 6 May the 14th working day.

It is generally accepted that Saturdays are not a working day in this context.

But if they didn't explain what they meant, it could be anything.

I would be inclined to just ask them if you can have the thing at the new price.

Oh god!! Don't say that! Wealdroam :( The bloke that sold it to me was really quite nice. The others in the shop have been less helpful. I am just so gutted because when I originally went in to the shop they offered to order it and me pay when it got there, but me being super money conscience was too worried that I would spend the money so just paid it all there and then!! Silly me, I did hang back for a fortnight to start with anyway because I said to my mum that I'd bet it would get reduced. They did tell me to call on Sat just gone as they were getting a delivery, so that's what I was basing my dates on. Although I know what you are saying it is generally Monday to Friday. Fingers crossed really. I will have to come back on tomorrow and update. But thank you for your reply. :)

If you read their terms & conditions they most likely have a clause stating in some cases delviery may take slightly longer than specified and dates are estimates so you won't have a case there.

As stated, find out what they class as a 'working day' as you may still be within the 14 days.

They may offer a £30 gift voucher.

You have not been ripped !

For all you know the supplier could have reduced the price, things go up and down all the time, you win some you loose some

I did say I would come back on and update. Here it is. As sods law goes the shop called me at work today to say the bed had been delivered and was ready to be collected! I roughly explained my grievance and they told me to speak to the manager when I called in. Actually, I was dreading going in there today. Anyway, cut to the chase they sympathised with me and offered me £30 credit note to spend in their store which I was more than happy with. They were very nice and helpful and surprisingly really decent. The bloke put the original through as a cancelled order to then resell at the reduced £99.99 price, but the bed came up at £69.99!!!!?! Even though the price card clearly stated £99.99, the store allowed me to have the bed at the lower price of £69.99, and gave me a store credit note for £60.00! :D he stated it was clearly an error on their system and would be changed after my transaction. I thanked him so much I think he was glad to see the back of me! So I am absolutely delighted, extremely lucky and can't wait to finally get a decent nights sleep tonight. But a big thank you for everyone who took time to read and respond to my post, I am very grateful. :)

But I have discovered since yesterday the bed has been reduced to £99.99!!!

It it had gone up to £159.99 would you have given them the extra £30?

    Thought not.
