boo80 kindly gave me instructions on how to share my photos with you! Background - mum & I sold our houses last year and bought one together. Neither of us had gardened before, so we're learning as we go along. Although the garden was established, all the shrubs etc had been neglected, so we dug them all up to start again (apart from the beautiful Wisteria!). Due to the garage being converted to an annex we also had to get some new sheds up asap! We're very proud of our achievement but would still welcome any tips etc. Our ultimate goal is to have a beautiful fragrant garden for the summer! In the album, the last photo is in fact the first one taken on the day we moved in so is the before one!

It's looking fab, so much nicer now. I've got serious lawn envy! Did you have to reseed, or did the lawn come back on it's own? Well done you! x x

What a wonderful garden you have there. All your hard work is very evident. Jolly well done!

I'm not sure I did it exactly right as mine comes up with a link! Oh well, never mind - looks like you could still see them!

We had seed put down behind the apple tree (where the tree's were chopped down) and in front of the sheds (where we dug up a flower bed), that was back last September, it is very patchy, so we'll have to reseed later in the year. The rest is the original and probably looks better than it is in the photos as its full of weeds and thistles! I put down some weed & feed last week, so we now have nice black patches too! To be honest, after having the building work done, we're now working on a budget, so as long as its green we'll make do this year. Hopefully though, the weed and feed will help with the thistles as its the one thing I can't stand!

One photo I haven't put on is a little veg patch we have - I planted onions, garlic and shallots and mum also has some runner beans! Again its a first for us, so we're impressed by how well they're doing!

Now I know how to do the photo uploading, I'm going to put pics on here every now and again! You must do the same then we can pat each other on the back for doing so well! Thanks for your help with photos! xx

I love the coloured bottles hanging from the trees, I'll bet they look lovely when the sun catches them.

I got the bottles last year and couldn't wait to hang them out again this year - means summer has landed! The sun catches them through the day, then at night you pop in a tea light candle to get a twinkly effect - love them! :)

I was going to say, nice photo of what looks like a pigeon in flight. :D

Your lawn when you moved in, looks exactly like mine does now. :p

Nice garden and a decent place to spend some time in.
Watch out for Tuesday night if your runner beans are out, it looks like being cold depending where you are.

Thats one thing we realise we made a mistake with - planting out far too early, I think it was excitement! Bedding plants and tubs were done 4 weeks ago and beans 2 weeks ago! It was only after reading different articles that we discovered we should have waited until the threat of frost had passed, yikes! Lucky for us its been so mild, lets hope we're not caught out now and that Tuesday is just warm enough to ward off any ice - I live in Reading, so we're usualy quite mild! :)
