Your plans sound very sensible, and not impractical to me.

I am sure that 2012 will be a year of consolidation for many of us, and i look forward to sharing it with you again xxx

Seriously Hypno's diary was the first one I ever posted on and I have followed her journey with awe so approval from Hypno means a lot to me :A I know I am a soft soppy cow

Thanks Hypno and I am looking forward to 2012 too it's not going to be a get rich quick year but one for laying solid foundations for future financial freedom so I am going to be around a long time for those who thought they were getting rid of me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wow, DT. We definitely need to communicate! For me, this is great news - The problems I've had with not getting trading have not been about the information I've gathered, they've been about my own fear, which I've almost conquered - I've also done a lot of research about how to research companies, and by next November, I *will* also be wanting to do this. With you all the way.

KC it will be nice to have a trading buddy somebody to bounce ideas off I know you have been doing some practice trading but I had the feeling you were looking at day trading or spread betting are you looking to be more long term?

I am going to start with Halifax's fantasy trading to begin with as it has a £10000 investment which will be what I will be starting with (I hope) in November so will give me a realistic picture of how things will be although I know it will be different emotionally when it is "real" money. But as I have been wasting more than that over the last x amount of years paying CCs it is money I can "afford" to lose although obviously I would prefer not to.

DT, Your plans sound really exciting :T

If you see your mortgage as a debt then surely you can stay on the DFW board or, at worst, MFW :D

You're right - but in the longer term, I want to do exactly what you're describing, a stocks and shares isa, there's nothing like diversification.

Excellent news on the fantasy trading! You should know whether your system can work by November ...

Brain is switched off now because of all that moving furniture, but I'm getting back to you *really* soon :)

That would be great! Maybe I'll dig out my notes on the long term trading, and do it with you, actually - I'll pm you about all that, tho, in a few days.
