Weekly Flylady Thread 2nd May 2011

Evening all, haven't caught up on the thread - got distracted by The Vampire Diaries
RANT ALERT
I am so tired today, Tuesday is the worst day here, its my first day of work and DD has brownies (but only for an other 12 months then she'll be headed to Guides  ) at 6pm so I do the weekly shop while she's there. Today had the added joy of library books due back today, I couldn't renew mine again and I still don't have a PIN to do it online so we had to go. (OOoooooo just found out what another button does on my new laptop - lots of shortcut keys which I keep hitting in error :rotfl: ). Anyways, just as I was leaving to go to the library a workman the landlady had booked turned up to fix our kitchen roof  I told him Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays are a no-go as I work and he won't be able to get access! So he goes up onto the roof to clear it off (flat felted roof extension full off moss, stones, broken glass & other cr*p the kids have thrown on it) and after 30min comes down and says "it needs to be re-felted. I can't just put this stuff on". This is what I said to my landlady 2 months ago and this workman when he came to see what needed to be done, of course I know nothing, I'm only a single female and know nothing of this building/maintenance larkHe's now going away for two weeks so won't be back until half-term week probably!

Putting DD to work yesterday has paid off, very little left on Wednesdays listJust don't look in my kitchen or run your hands on the surfaces in the livingroom (they're on my to-do list honestly!). I've told DD next time she writes "clean me" on the gas fire I'm going to make her clean the laminate floor in the livingroom with a toothbrush!
Its her favourite trick when it gets dusty, its a black fire so shows dust about an hour after I've dusted
Ironing of uniforms is going to have to wait until tomorrow. My feet feel like I have a blue whale at the bottom of each legAt least it will only be a blouse, jeans for me and a shirt...maybe...hmmm *thinks about whats going on in work tomorrow*. I've bought my lunches for this week and tomorrow when I get in I must remember to put the breadmaker on - there was no way I was going to pay over £1 in Asda for a loaf of bread when I have bread flour in, just because they'd sold out of their own brand!
At least I am off work next week - its SATs week for the year 6 kids so they're not keen on me being around with me only being voluntary for some reason, and I'm having a minor "procedure" on the tip of my nose done on MondayI'm having a small cyst (about the size of a pea) removed after having it for years. I would have left well alone, but its grown slightly & become more prominate (read: pure white and very noticeable some days ) to the extent I can't cover it up with make-up any more.
No idea how they'll remove it yet so I could be fine and look normal, or I could have a nice stitch or two :rotfl: I can't wait for it to be gone though, I feel like an anemic rudolph some days
Right, I'm headed to bed to watch something on Youtube and I'll catch you tomorrow evening

oh no... not that corner... its my random cr*p corner... the corner I avoid when taking photo's of the kids as I don't want anyone knowing it's there.. *shudders* has anyone got a hard hat? It really is that bad.
It's the PC desk. The monitor died and is still on there. The PC is now hooked up to the TV as we can't afford a new monitor yet, and the desk has become the 'place' to dump things. The chair has become the 'table' for DS' downstairs changing box (plastic box we keep nappies wipes and some spare clothes in so no running up and downstairs - I'm only 24 but have arthritus in my back). I think there is some empty nappy packets under there, the wires are all tangled up and I don't know what's what, there's so many bits of random paper to sort through... just looking over now there is even OH's deoderant, DD's de-tangling hairspray, a bottle of head and shoulders and some of DD's bath wash.
I may have to do just that if nothing else. I am however planning on getting OH to change the bed linen as it is needed, and I'm hoping to finish sorting out DD's clothes. I bought 36 hangers on Friday, I thought it would be enough. I just counted the clothes left to hang up and need another 2 packs of 12. That's assuming that she always has 3/4 tops in the wash at any one time.
So my realistic list for tomorrow:
Wednesday ~ Master Bedroom
Level 1
Check smoke alarms are working - another job for OH, I can't reach
Remove and wash bed linen - OH will do if I bribe him with yummy dinner
Fling open the window and let in the rain/sunnyness - gets done on a daily basis anyway
(doing well so far!)
Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum & turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen.. - have never vacuumed a mattress in my life... is that bad?
Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Extras- binbag dance
- Clean windows in these rooms
- Do half hour clearing of the place you hate doing the most.. - make that an hour
- Hoover front room as DD kindly spilled her spaghetti everywhere and I'm still finding bits
- Buy more coathangers and finally get DD's room looking as it should
- Get photo's printed for that lovely frame in the kitchen
- Get OH to help with recycling bins
I'm lucky my OH is so helpful really. He did the dishes today and the kitchen floor and even took the children for an hour this morning so I could sleep in, only woke up when DS needed a feed.Mummy to beautiful 5yr old girl and a gorgeous 1yr old boy:D0 -

May the 4th be with you all :hello: and I hope it will be with me.
They are replacing the electric cables in our road today, we actually get our electric from the back, underground, so we may be ok or we may have the electric turned off all day [9-5], fingers crossed they don't need to turn off the underground people.
Flying will then have to be quick or non electric appliance, so at lunch time
dusting all rooms
mop floors
greenhouse duties
finish latest olympic pennant
