Have you created Recovery Discs? If not, leave the D: drive alone.

How much space on your C: drive?

245gb free of 285gb on C drive. No recovery disk created.
It seems a lot of space taken up on D drive but i can't view or change what is on it.

the whole point of not getting is access is so that you cannot do something stupid as deleting the recovery system especailly as you have not even created the discs. If your computer happened to have a fault how do you think that it recovers!;)

Your hard disk is divided into two partitions, C and D. Windows will see these as two drives.

The D drive is quite small (less than 5%) compared to the C and as others have said the D drive is there to recover (re-install) windows and should be left well alone.

Your main working drive is the C drive, this is where your My Documents folder is. I see that you have an enorous 245 GB (85%) free. So your PC is in no way cluttered, so don't worry about the D drive.

!!!!!! delete if you want. I got rid of my recovery partition. No big deal. I upgraded anyway, so had all the necessary disks. Word to the wise, ensure you have all correct disks! ;)
