Don't know how "strict" AMEX are with this but when I applied and was approved for a Barclaycard platinum in Jan., the (individual) income threshold was £20k and mine was just under £12k! AMEX vs Barclaycard - who is the harsher scorer?

May still be worth the OP applying, esp. if s/he doesn't already have too many searches and has a sound credit history.

It wont do any harm if you haven't had loads of recent searches anyways, The worst they can say is no.
