replacing a light pendant on the ceiling

..and spaceboy, no loop-in isn't safer, it's just cheaper and quicker to install. I don't like it because it makes life difficult for home owners to do DIY light fitting replacements.
Ormus, the best method I was shown by a spark mate and have used myself ever since (though it's rarely seen) is junction box system but with a large multi point joint box, including between 3 and 5 fittings from one junction. It's so efficient and providing the box is accessible, it lends itself to future expansion. I can't understand why it isn't more widely used.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
That is the only the second time that I have ever seen a light fitting that actually has enough connections to enable it to be installed as a direct replacement in a looped in system. Usually, the installation of new light fittings is made difficult, simply because they only have provision for live, neutral and earth. Would that all light fittings had the same.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
