cleaning up credit report
Options
hi
my husband is trying to clean up his credit report, 6 years after the iva started.
he has written to the companys that are still showing defaults on his credit report, and two have marked the accounts as paid and satisfied but are still showing as default.
we are trying to get a mortgage and need it sorting asap as we have found a house we want.
How can we get the defaults changed to show they have been satisfied as from the date of the iva?

You can clean your credit report straight after you finish you IVA, thats what im doing. mine completed on december 20th, 2010 and its taken me this long for creditors to mark as satisfied and to move default dates back to when IVA started.
That way, when the six years comes up, they should all fall off. Im in the same boat as you, as soon as my credit file is clean, im applying for a morgage.
If your creditors are like mine then it will take months for them to pull there fingers out. You just need to keep sending recorded letters and hassling CRA to contact them as well. Good luck!0 -
Hi Suzy. Try sending them a letter worded along the lines of the one I posted here:

thanks for the replys.
The last default is dated july so maybe it will be just as quick to wait, if they are so slow at removing the defaults!
hope the house dosent sell, ori will be very sad!!
