We need some idea's which actually earn money and aren't too hard to supply/set up. Its a normal fair with lots of crowds. We've done Tin can alley (raised £55 approx) and Pick a stick (Raised £15). We would like to do the duck hoop thing but never find any pools etc. We need money making ideas because its for charity and they need to attract the crowds!
New year, new comper here!

can you advertise for sellers/crafters? charge them all for a stall and it gives variety and saves you having to organise anything other than getting a table there and taking payment. if you make sure you don't get 20 stalls selling the the same category of items, you get variety. it would be rare for a stall to cost less than £15 absolute minimum so you'd easily make as much as some of your previous stalls.
how about face painting? popular with kids and with the kids sitting down getting it done, it encourages the parents to stay longer! we rented a candy floss machine (admittedly years ago!) and that went down well and made a fair profit (although the person doing it was really sticky!!).:happyhear0 -

TBH you could have made that much just be sticking your hand out and saying "spare any change?" to passers by. Sad but true.
You've got to provide what people want if you want to make money and when you are dealing in loose change it's got to be a quick exchange, that's why you see so many chip & burger vans at fetes and car-boots, it's a steady turnover and a high mark-up.
The simplest thing to do is sell some stuff and put a big well-labeled charity bucket on the middle of the table so people can drop change into it as they come to your stall; most people won't see anything they want to buy at your stall but most people will drop a couple of coins into the bucket and it does add up to a fair amount by the end of the day.
Beg or borrow a marquee tent if you don't have one already, the basic ones are cheap and you might find one on FreeCycle or Freegle.0 -
Hi how about a lucky dip for the kids and one for the adults. Throwing a wet sponge at a man in the stocks, pony ride, bouncy castle, catching fish with a magnet, puppet show, rope some students on beauty courses to do make overs, massages.0

Temporary tattoos are very popular and very quick, easy and cheap. Look on https://www.bakerross.co.uk
If its a school you could have a bring a soft toy to be rehomed day and have a teddy bear/soft toy tombola.
Cake and plant stalls are always very popular as our bouncy castles. You could have a trip to the cash and carry to buy sweets for a tuck shop.
You could have a talent show. So much per entry.
Ask the parents to auction something like 2 hours worth of ironing, making of a will, drive there and back to the airport, haircutting,etc0 -
Human fruit machine. Three people sat at a table with a divider between them (three large cardboard boxes with bottoms cut out) and a basket in front of them with apple, banana, orange in it. Make a large "fruit machine" button or handle. Punter pays 50p and pushes button and three people pick a random piece of fruit from basket (dividers are so they cant see what is picked out by other folks ) and hold over their heads. Three in a row wins 5 to 6 times stake amount. Decorate and add sound effects to make spectacular, but importantly requires very little outlay.
key in a box popular as well. get someone handy to make a box or small door with yale lock. Ask local locksmith for any off cut, ill fitting yale keys (you'll need lots) put in a bag and get people to pick out unseen (important as lots of clues on keys) .Winner to open box or door wins £10 or more . Put keys back in bag afterwards.0 -
