i submitted loads of receipts yesterday, anyone had vouchers back today?

Nope :( I'm waiting on a 2 item womble which I think should come back at £3.
  • Following on from my super-trouting last week in my store over receipt retention I have had 4 calls to c.s head office and now just spoken to the deputy store manager at the store in question who insists that now receipts have to be photocopied and retained, the original signed and returned to the customer, and the receipt for the items you are using a t.p.g voucher towards has to be signed also. Also she tells me that vouchers have been capped to £10 - ages ago! So I asked her to explain how I'd received one for £13.58 the other day for validly purchased items that were compared and found cheaper in Asda. She said that I couldn't have!

So, another backwards and forwards conversation resulted. She said, he said, she said, he said... get my drift?

I urged her whilst I was on the phone to check the tesco.com terms & conditions for their promotion where it clearly says vouchers are capped to £20 and that although an original receipt has to be produced when redeeming a voucher nowhere in the t&cs does it even imply that it is to be retained. She argued that they had had a directive from Dundee. I believe I am right in saying that Dundee only deal with personal injury claims against Tesco or problems with an item bought, and that all other queries are filtered through Cardiff C.S who would surely have been informed if the promotion had changed again, as would the website.

So, I have spoken to CS 4 times, local store once. Each time been told something slightly different. I was originally promised a £5 giftcard which has not appeared either.

This is all over a wretched voucher for £3.37 and the fact that I stood my ground over keeping my receipt. I was happy for them to sign it, date it, photocopy it, lick it all over if they wanted, but it was mine, mine, mine.

I have never, ever come across such a uselessly run promotion ever. Whilst all this is going on - do we hear much about such run-ins with Asda - no! They are still happily promoting their price guarantee - just today I have heard if on local radio, seen bill board posters and it is on the bottom of their receipts. Tesco don't want to even acknowledge theirs.

Seems to me a clear winner from this - Asda. However, does the average shopper really care if Tesco have been rubbish at this promotion, most people believe what Tesco try and trick them into believing.

We, on here and other money saving sites, are probably in the minority.

I lament the days when the customer was right or at least given the benefit of the doubt. I am beginning to dread shopping in Tesco, that shouldn't be? Until the dtd promotion started in February I hadn't shopped in Tesco for ages and I can see I will revert to that. Its quite a horrid experience.

    A happy update to report!

Had call from Deputy Manager at local store who told me she'd had a conversation today with Head office and someone from "the price match department" (lol) who have confirmed that my store was misinformed and that the customer, should they want it FOR ANY REASON, can have their receipt back, signed of course. No photocopies need be taken. She also confirmed that she was now happy that there was no £10 capping as she had first thought.

She also confirmed that she had spoken to the till supervisor who had been so vile to me and that she was now "fully in the picture as to price match vouchers".

So now then, that 01p voucher from a recent womble will be especially reserved for her, with sugar on the top!

Deputy Manager said that she would be briefing her team leaders and that head office were distributing this information to all store. Yeah right, course they are...

Wasn't going to let this drop. Am fed up, FED UP! with being trouted at the till point. Myalphabetgirls wasn't going quietly...
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x
  • I used a voucher for £4.xx today.
Initially I went to SS tills but the voucher wouldn't scan (maybe because I had printed it in draft-mode to save ink?)
So the SA sent me to customer services.
The SA at customer services saw the voucher and called over a supervisor. Supervisor said she had to check with the cash office that it was a genuine voucher because they'd been getting alot of 'fakes' recently.
Supervisor was gone for 12 minutes (i was observing the clock infront of me).. she came back and said it was a genuine voucher and scanned it. She then stapled the receipt to the voucher and said she had to keep it. I made a big deal about getting it back. Luckily I had used a credit card and so I said I had to make sure my credit card bill added up.... but the way she unstapled and flung it back toward me was very disrespectful
