Safestyle Uk.... Liars

I would not use these or recommend these to anyone they make you all sorts of promises and then they tell you they then cant keep the promises.

  • you will find that is a common theme in that industry.

the company I used were lying, cheating scumbbags.
    3 bounce offs v Tesco's, 3 wins = £190+
  • I would never touch safestyle even if they were the last company on earth. After one of there salesmen wouldn't leave our house untill we signed an agreement ,he was here for nearly 5 hours. We couln't get rid of him, and he told lies, we found out afterwards.

Anyway we signed his contract just to get rid of him and gave him a cheque for a deposit, just to get him out of our house.
And cancelled the whole lot the next day, had quite a few phone calls from them.

Staybright is another company i wouldn't touch.

    Stick to local recommended companies!

There is a reason why Safe Style offer 'buy one get one free' etc!

Run the other way and FAST!

I had same problem with Everest with a dubious salesman who was later sacked.

I still get calls from them asking for new buisness.

Interesting. We've used both Staybrite and Coldseal for double glazing in the past and having got through the 'sales' pitch (young screaming kids tends to cut that short), we've had no trouble with either company, either with the installation or after sales service. We always get more than one quote - usually 3 - and they've always been competitive with others, including local suppliers. Having said that, we've now found a very good local company that we will use for the one remaining window that needs double glazing in our new (old) house.

I guess with all these companies (& Safestyle are one we've never contacted) there are good and bad experiences. You pays your money, you takes your choice unfortunately.

The guy shouting at you on their advert is a total put off! Afraid I don't believe there is such a thing as buy one get one free. If they can do that it just means their profit margins are excessive in the first place.
I used little local company and they were brilliant. good price good service and excellent product

Staybrite quoted me 9000 for work I wanted doing but discounts and offers and their reaction to me yawning at them got it down to 3600.
Safestyle quoted me 8800. I told them they had 3400 to beat and it was going on price. Price was 3340.

Local supplier told me they would have done it for about 2800 and no mucking about over discounts. Ho hum.

What scares me is that there are people who would pay the first quote because they don't know better.

As to quality. Safestyles work was OK. Not good or bad, just OK. Friends who had everest in paid a bit more but the finish appears a bit better.

  • XBigman - sounds like our experience. Quote started at approx £8k and then reduced due to 'special discounts' etc to £3,100 (Staybrite). Local firm couldn't or wouldn't beat it & surprisingly nor would Coldseal, so we went with Staybrite. About 1 week after we placed the order, a Coldseal regional manager (!) phoned up & asked why we hadn't ordered with them, told him it was price & he then tried to get me to back out of Staybrite contract & go with them - they would beat it. Stuck with Staybrite, but the second time we needed a company, Coldseal were very good value. As said before, no problems with either company installation or after sales. I really do think it is down to the people you deal with on the day.

Share your concerns though, some people would gladly pay an extortionate amount of money.

Your better going with a local firm as they have more to loose than a national chain. Its best asking friends and family and then get several quotes from different companies.

Dont sign anything when pressued often salesman will try and give you a better price or so it seems if you sign today.
  • I'm unable to comment on Safestyle's sales tactics but only on their aftersales and warranty claims.
I inherited their windows and doors in present house - five years since installation. There were problems with external cracks in both front and rear residential doors. I 'phoned Safestyle re this and was advised a date that someone would come to examine doors and that I would be contacted the day befor to confirm a time. The call was made and the doors were examined and agreed for replacement with similar. I was told that someone would 'phone with an installation date - they did and the two doors were replaced without hassle on the appointed day. He also resealed a couple of windows at the same time.
So I must give Safestyle full marks for honouring their gaurantee.
However, in spite of the foregoing I would not give the standard of initial installation or quality of windows/doors many points and would have been very critical if I had been the householder at that time!
