Lay Z Spa broken - help

Used it for the 2nd season yesterday, put it up and all heated and bubbled nicely and then after first use, pressed the heat button and it cut out the electricity. It just won't work at all. Has anyone else had these problems. I have searched the web and it appears that there are lots of problems with the heating element. It is only 10 months old and I have no longer got the receipt. I know the guarantee will not pay out, as I have changed the RCD plug against manufacturers advice (this was not a causal factor) - what a waste of £350!! I am so annoyed, was really looking forward to a dip this bank holiday and now it is broken.
There is advice about taking it apart and bypassing bits and pieces with live wires, but I can see a death in a hottub occuring if I start messing about with it and I already have cancer, so don't really want to electrocute myself and have that on my death certificate.
Shall I just bin it? or alternatively get hypothermia in a 'cold tub'.
Help please, I'm gutted.:(

There's a lot of problems with the pumps on these things, if it's still in warranty take it back to the shop, I assume you have a credit card statement etc as proof of purchase being as you don't have a recipt0
