Green shield stamps
OT guys, but thinking of the way we save etc... and loyalty cards .. came across this the other day.. who remembers licking these?..... and the joy of having a Co-op 40 stamp to lick, instead of 40 single ones?! And each page had to have the same "value" stamps stuck on it.

OMG! Happy Times! My first job was working saturdays and holidays when i was 14 was in International Stores in Fakenham, The lovely manager used to let us keep the stamps which people didnt want so i filled my 'bottom draw' with all kinds of things from the Green Shield Stamp shop in Norwich!:j

Any ideas what a full book of Green Shield stamps would get me today?.....lol.....I have got a full book in the draw....trying to remember why I still have it, I was in the garage trade and used to give them with fuel purchases in the 70's, got a huge collection of stuff that was given away...even got a Tigers Tail....used to hang it round the petrol cap, so it looked like you had a Tiger in your tank.....also got full set of World Cup footballers medals mounted in a frame, you got 1 everytime you bought fuel, got the scratchcards and a loft full of glasses, got Tiger Tokens too...all unused, just bundled everythng into a huge box when we had our Esso Service station knocked down and rebuilt
In 1980......and then added promo stuff to the box until we retired in 1999.....0 -
Hi all :j
Dawnie had a good day at the car boot sale - stayed dry (and sunny most of the time), me and friend shared a pitch as i didn't have much stuff - came home with just 1 box of stuff and made just over £80 and bagged myself a washing machine through talking to a nearby seller! Pity they didn't stick to the times in the press tho - papers said it started at 1pm, website said same and for sellers to get there 10.30-11.00 - we got there are 10.30am and it was in full swing and buyers were leaving!!!A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -

I went to our biggest Tesco today (WWX Thanet) and managed to use nearly £20 worth of coupons against a £58 shop - made a few mistakes because my brain turns to mush as soon as I enter the store - I think I will have to write everything down in detail now so as not to miss anything. I forgot to hand over a couple of coupons in my excitement -d'oh!!
Anyway - regarding the Whitby fish vouchers - the only Whitby stuff I could find were the packets of fishcakes which are £1 each so I bought one to try.
Also had a look to see if I could find any 1p dog beds (see 1p Tesco thread) but no joy. Have also posted this on the 1p thread.
And picked up half a dozen Tesco mags as well - now cutting out all the coupons!!0 -
