Credit Card Application Problems

Hi,
I am looking for some help and advice on getting a credit card.
I am currently paying interest on a credit card so I am looking to transfer the balance on to a 0.0% balance transfer credit card and I am having real trouble.
I currently have a credit card that I pay monthly by direct debit and I have never been late or missed a payment. I have checked my Experian credit rating and it was 902 which is good and according to them there doesn't seem to be anything on my account that would stop me getting a credit card.
I have a small overdraft and a loan which I also pay by DD.
However I am always rejected straight away for a credit card (seemingly before even completing a credit check on me!). The websites usually advise me to contact Experian to check why I have been rejected, however they can't seem to give me a reason!
I thought maybe it could be due to the fact that my salary is low (£17000, full time employment) or due to the fact that I have only lived at my address and been in my job for around 6 months. Other than that I am stumped!
Any advice or help you can give me would be much appreciated!
Kate

Others will be along to tell you to stop wasting money on worthless numbers shortly, but in the meantime...
Are you on the Electoral Roll? And were you at the last place?
Financial Associates?
What's your total debt?
What's your total available credit? (all cards/loans/overdrafts)
How many credit searches in the last 6 months?0 -
Hi YorkshireBoy, Thanks for the response!
I am on the electoral roll but I have been out of the country for a while prior to living at this address so I was not on the roll before that.
My total debt is is around £5000 and my available credit is around £500.. I think there have been 2 searches on my credit in the last 6 months.
However, I seem to be automatically rejected when I put my information in... as I have applied for several cards but only 2 searches were done.
Any info would help!0 -

I have real trouble as although I am on the Electoral Roll the address is different on the roll to my true postal address.
Postal Address is : Flat 4 This House, 30 This Road
Roll Address is : 4
30 This House, This Road
So using the postal address gives a low score with Experian of 550 as they do not find a match but using the Roll Address gives a score of 855 but that is not the correct postal address. With CallCredit and Equifax there is no problem using my postal address but most companies tend to use Experian.
I have tried to get Experian to investigate but no joy.
So I would check the address on the Electoral Roll is correct.0 -

It shows on my credit report that I am on the electoral roll and the address is showing as correct..0
