OS Daily Thread Saturday April 30th

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for April 30th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi everyone, I never thought that I would be first on here this morning, it took me ages to work out how to do the first post.
The RW party was great yesterday. The best bit about it was that the children (about 25 of them aged 2 to 15) all played together all day instead of separating off into their different age groups.
There were quite a few of us in wedding dresses. One of my friends was so determined to wear hers that she held it together at the back with duct tape!
Today will be much more down to earth things, got to hang out the washing and go to the supermarket- we have been living out of the freezer for the last week and there only appears to be frozen fruit left now!
    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Sunny & breezy here today, hubby out in the garden pottering.
I'm still in a quandry about the food, I did a lot of cooking yesterday ready for a family visit, only for it to be confirmed, quite late on that the half of the family I was expecting have had to cancel & the half I wasn't expecting as they were on holiday & have had to cut their holiday short, will be coming over & they don't like HM food, balrocks! Oh well there is a KCf 2 miles away, they can go there, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,
Bright and sunny here though I think it could be a bit chilly outside.
Just need to do some washing today, did all the dusting and ironing yesterday. Need to go to the Post Office to post a few Ebay parcels and try and encourage DS's to bank a few £££'s of their pocket money.
Tea will be something out of the freezer, may pop over to Mr T's this evening for a few whoopsies.
    Have a great day everyone

    Good morning peeps,
thanks for starting the thread Moorhen. I couldn't find it for ages.
Lovely weather here atm but we will be out and about, so won't be able to enjoy the garden.
We need to start eating out of the freezer, it is full to bursting with frozen leftovers or batch cooked meals.
Happy Saturday folks, hugs to those in need or who want them, Cheers, Silver x

Sunny here this morning-weather turning out better than I thought. May go out with OH today for a potter around Wells as he is not going to model railway exhibition again today. Is probably going tomorrow.....sigh. Tea will be out of the freezer today and yesterday was pizza-we only have it once or twice a year and I cba'd to cook last night which is unusual for me.

    Have a good day all.

*Will take pooch for a walk in a bit.
*Will change the bed covers so that'll be another load on to wash. *Need to hoover.
*Downstairs bathroom needs a really good scrub.
*Really trying hard to make this a NSD so will have a potter around the garden, fingers crossed the weather holds out!
*Cooker needs cleaning too :mad: Hate that job,i put it off and put it off but im afraid it must be done now!
Im sure there are other bits and bobs that i'll find as the day goes on.

Not sure about meals as i only need to worry about myself, thinking pizza for tea and snuggle up with a film, could do with chilling out.

    Morning all,

Very quiet on here today, I wonder if everyone is Royal partied out :D

Beautiful day here again :T, got a small white wash on, so will hang that out.

DD went to the party yesterday and was ok, came back a bit tipsy, which I dont mind as she has been working so hard, but I have told her that it wont be a regular thing. I made her eat some toast and drink a glass of milk when she got in, she is still in bed atm, will get her up in a while.

OH is at the boot sale, looking for bargains to sell on Ebay, I have another three things finishing tonight, they wont raise as much as the other radio, but every bit helps :T

I think today we are going to have a ride out to a local pub which sells local asparagus, its delish, we get some from there every year, will take the dog and have a walk while we are there, might take a sandwich or might push the boat out and have lunch out :D

Dinner tonight is hot dogs in rolls with wedges and sweetcorn, in front of Dr Who :T, cant wait.

Hester I would serve up what you have made, of they dont like it s*d them;)

    Have good days all xxxx

    Morning all!
silvermaid, i'm in the same boat with the freezer. Lots of quick dinners o the horizon
harduphester, i never understand how people can not like hm food! i had a friend as a kid who only liked the ready meal/frozen versions of foods, broke my mum's heart having to buy frozen pizza :P

Productive day planned and under way here: 4 hours on assignments, 2 hours on revision, change the sheets, vacuum, make frozen yogurt. I made gelato yesterday with some reduced milk but went out before i'd finsihed the freeze/stir so it's a bit... icy, hopefully I can sort it out today. Any tips on making gelato?!
I was at the opera house again last night, I really am loving these £10 student tickets! I fully reccommend it to anyone elligible (love film, over 60s etc have discounts too but they are strict on seeing proof), seen some brilliant performances that I wouldn't usually be able to afford.
