Can you volunteer somewhere? I've been doing it for 3 years - started off to get experience for career change, now I do it for all sorts of charities. It's great to set up a regular stint so you can really bond with people and the sense of satisfaction when a completed is great. Also, you often get a free meal!
  • Voluntary work is a great idea. I registered with my csv (they have a website something like https://www.csv.org.uk I think with all the local branch details on) - I only get occasional work but it gives me something to do now and then, and because I'm doing teaching type stuff I have preperation to do in the run-up as well. Definetly worth a try. (And good for your CV too).

However, I always get really bored during the week. Normally I'll end up putting ten quid into Betfair to waste a couple of hours. However, I put £20 in this morning and lost it all (bloody Nottingham Forest/AC Milan!). As such, I've pretty much reached the limit I put into betting for a month, and now have 3 weeks to go until the next payday
Rather than wasting money mug betting you should read up on the gambling loopholes forum. I've made £2,200 since last Feb from bookmaker bonus offers (risk free*) and cashback.

*Risk free in terms of not involving hoping for the correct outcome; equal profit for either outcome.

If you don't want to/ can't afford to spend, a risk free gamble is entering online competitions. The only investment you need to make is your time and its lovely when prizes turn up unexpectedly.

daughter got a candle making kit for christmas two years ago which she's not bothered with. Not really a thing that would normally appeal to me but for some reason I've got an urge to open it and try it. Might give it a go. And it's not a comment on my masculinity ;)

Other than that, I'm trying to learn french too. Anything to keep me out of the off-licence,

Pigsback and matched betting can keep you entertained and will earn you money/vouchers which is always nice.
