Less loan in fifth year and jobs starting in August are common to med students throughout the country - that's probably how firsttimestudent figured me out 0 0

Glad to hear that you met a very clued up advisor, and that it is moving towards the right direction.
All the best in it! Do post your success story when it comes. 0 Do post your success story when it comes. 0

Student accounts tend to only last 3 years. You'll have to read the T&Cs of the student account to see if it says "for 3 years" or "for the length of your course", and if it's the latter you should be able to change it back but they are not psychic and I doubt they will refund the charges because of that. But I suppose it would stop any future charges for a bit.
When I was looking for my student account last year all of them lasted the length of the course.0

            Update!
I went in on Saturday with my attendance statement, the advisor said they couldn't change it back then because the computer systems had changed and it wasn't officially possible anymore, and made me an appointment to come back this morning when either head office was open or a certain manager was in the branch (I'm not really clear on that point). I went back this morning and he changed my account details back to a student (apparently it will be effective from midnight tonight), extended the overdraft (woo!) and gave me a card with a number to call tomorrow (when my account is showing as a student one again), saying he couldn't promise but thought they would be likely to refund the overdraft charges - I didn't even have to ask!
Happy ending for me, thank you Halifax and thank you everyone who posted with support and calmed me down that day (I was definitely panicking a little bit, lol). Yay!0
