Help wanted to find right wireless fire alarm.

Hi,
I have two of these firealarm which have been hard wired into the ceiling in two rooms.
However, the building inspectors have suddenly decided that they want them to be linked together, so if one goes off they both go off. I know that I can get wireless ones, as it's too late to link them directly, but I was wondering are there wireless ones that will fit into the same bases.
On the base it says it is a Firex 4188, but it seems it is also called the IR230C.
Can anyone tell me if I can re-use the bases? Or do I need to replace them. I'd rather just slot in new ones, so if anyone can help me find the right ones it would be very much appreciated!
