Trying to find dlights and they seem alot more expensive than when we went a couple of years ago - we paid £650 each to fly into Vegas and out from San Diego, but looking to fly into Vegas and out LA this time.

We are hoping to go in August next year, but using Kayak, flights are around £950 :(

As this is the main cost - any tips on finding cheap flights?

Maybe worth you looking at getting some Virgin Atlantic miles through Tesco Clubcard. I changed £16 CC into 4000 Virgin miles and this saved us about £80 each off our flights (£474 each MAN-MCO direct).

Just had a quick look for next August and they are coming out at about £850 for LGW-LAS then LAX-LHR. Not exactly cheap but certainly cheaper. Perhaps this will come down but who knows ? It is early days so if it was me I would sit and wait, maybe setup a flight price tracker on Kayak to keep an eye on them.

Looking at hotels now in Los Angeles - last time stayed in Hollywood, great for Metro and Walk of Fame although its very seedy and didn't really feel that comfortable there.

Looking again for this year it comes down to a place near Manhattan Beach (20 min walk from beach) or Hollywood again - anyone tried either?

We're looking to maybe see Hollywood again, Beverley Hills, Malibu, Six Flags etc
