DVDs wont play sound on Dell Lappy

My laptop (a Dell Inspiron from one of the deals some time ago) used to play DVDs with no problem using WMP10 and the onboard Dell Cine player. Recently I installed Nero and copied a DVD video prog which I bought from the states.
Now I cannot get any sound from any DVD I play on it. The DVD and the copies play fine on other DVD players. But any DVD I now put in the lappy are mute. I've gone through all the possibilities I can think of, ie checking nothing is muted. Could the Nero program and copying facilities have done anything to cause this?

I heard someone with a similar problem, after installing Nero (that incorporated InCD within installation). Once InCD uninstalled, DVDs played perfectly.
Hope that works for you.:money: [STRIKE]Mortgage: July01=62700; Apr07=~15000[/STRIKE]

I have uninstalled Nero, now I'll see if this inCD is separately installed. Thanks."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

I guess a normal CD plays OK through MP10 - worth a check? Any sounds from other devices play ok? (.wav, .mp3...), but I guess yes, or you would haven't such a specific query. Sorry, I probably can't help much... but someone will! There's always a roll back to consider, to a time prior to the first Nero install?
I have Nero, and on installation did a custom install, so that it didn't put all the other associated programs on at the same time.:money: [STRIKE]Mortgage: July01=62700; Apr07=~15000[/STRIKE]

Yes, everything works except DVD sound. How do you roll back to a previous state? Certainly worth trying!"...IT'S FRUITY!"0
