hi all!
i bought things from ebay before through paypal (from my credit card) without any problem and few days ago started selling. i managed to post 3 items smoothly but during my 4th post, ebay alert said i need to confirm my identity with a bank account. is this normal? im reluctant to do it just in case it is not genuine.
also, i just added another card (debit card) on paypal, and received this email:
Please confirm your bank account as follows:
We recently deposited two small amounts in your bank account, which we need you to confirm.

- Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
- In your Account Overview go to the "To Do" box.
- Select the "Complete bank setup" link and follow the instructions.
i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble

Unless you verify yourself you will find yourself unable to list anymore and not able to access your paypal account. I'm not sure why a new card would make any difference though, all debit cards are linked to a bank account and are capable of being used to deposit funds to a bank account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i was hoping i can change the card i am using for paypal from credit card to debit card in time for selling my items.
yes, i was not able to list anymore things i wanted to sell.

Go to paypal and there will be a discreet box on RH side with all sorts of info required, you need to go through all them. Do it quickly though as the payments to a bank account take longer than paypal reckon.
I had to re verify mine about a year ago, for some odd reason. I did the bank thing as soon as I saw the box about verification but I still couldn't get the bank details confirmed within the time limt paypal said and ended up a few hours adrift until I could get it sorted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I always thought that verification was an option and not a necessity. Make sure that the message that you are getting is on your paypal account pages. You did not say that it was in your OP.
If it is an email sent to you, it is very likely to be a phishing attempt to get your bank details!
Always go through your paypal account and never click on a link in an email sent to you. The phishing emails sent by the hackers are very very credible and I once was nearly caught out by them.0 -

No it is a necessity, if you don't verify when asked they merely suspend your paypal account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. with regards to funding, as i understand it, paypal will deposit 2 transaction in my bank account(?) and i have to check it after 2-3 days in my account and i have to check it myself afterwards...
is this correct?i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -

Yes but in many cases it takes longer than the 2-3 days paypal say.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It depends if your paypal account is currently temporarily suspended, if so you can't list. If it isn't then you can list. For safety though make sure you do long enough listings to ensure you can get the verification done before someone tries to pay you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
