worrying letters, advice please

Options
Hi all,
i am at the early stages of a debt management plan, approaching my third payment. i understand it can take time for the letters and phone calls to die down. the company i am with mccambridge duffy i believe to be a trustworthy and reliable company. i was told a few days ago that one of my creditors tesco has accepted, however i have heard nothing about my main creditors lloyds tsb. today i recieved two letters from lloyds saying final notice and threatening possible legal action if i dont contact them. another letter i have recieved is from someone acting on behalf of lloyds tsb saying that if i dont ring him, he will call at my flat when next in the area. can they do this? should i ring him? will this actually happen? its as though they have no idea about the dmp we are trying to work with. its not like i am ignoring the debt i thought i have been doing the right thing. obviously now with the bank holidays i cant get any answers untill tuesday, so please give me some advice, i will be very gratefull
many thanks
dan

Hi. As soon as possible ask McCD for have a word with them and see if they can't sort something out -- after all that is what they are getting the fees for! They are a well known and respected comapny, so should be on the ball -- but do need to be kept in the loop.

Unfortunately a DMP does not give you any protection at all from your creditors and they are free to continue with whatever action they deem needed to protect their investment in you. You can only trust that they see some sense and decide to co-operate.

    Best of Luck.

thanks for the reply, do you think i should ring this guy and explain, and ring the bank?
the guy who is dealing with things for me just says to send him letters, but the real worry is i dont want someone knocking on my door. in a few months i about going for an IVA anyway, they will have to co-operate.
    thanks

You could ring the guy and bank, if you feel up to it, and explain that your financial affairs are being dealt with by McCD and that they should speak to them. Don't get drawn into an arguement (or even discussion) Do the old POW mantra of name, rank and serial number (or in this case: Insolvency Practitioner, comapny and phone number). Pass the letters to McCD and, hopefully, they will contact them also.

    Hi danp100,

Was just browsing through the forums and came across your post. Did you manage to speak to McCD today? Hope you got it sorted ok.
