OVO didn't put my our DD up so now we're in debt and stuck with them

Your first post is neither friendly nor chilled in tone.
"Ovo didn't...so now we're ... stuck"
"We don't have £300 lying around" - but you noticed you were £600 in debt
"we're stuck with them"
"Doesn't seem fair"
"It's their job"
"their neglect is going to cost us money"
Nor is it particularly fair - you did not keep track of your usage vs payment even after they informed you you were £600 in debt.
Most customers do not want the instalments changed every month or every quarter.0 -
Crumbs! How was I unfriendly??
"Hi all
Would appreciate a bit of advice...
...Does this happen a lot? Anyone have any advice on this?...
Any advice appreciated."
Does that really sound unfriendly?
OK yes, I did moan about OVO a bit, but they're a big energy company and I'm sure they won't be offended, and are not even reading this! And regardless of all points raised, I think it's not an unreasonable perception that they have made an oversight which has caused me an inconvenience. And yes I know - I made an oversight too.
But I feel that my OP was an entirely civil and polite request to other forum members. The information I've been given here is all fair enough, and I've learnt from it - but the 'serves you right' undertone is baffling to me.
Clearly it's quite a different culture here to other boards I frequent.0
