Thought i would start wrapping my pressies early this year. :j
Just spent 3 hours wrapping putting bows on and writing out tags.
Also putting thr right pressies in the correct christmas bags.;)
Can't believe how long it has taken me and i am still not even half way through.
Does everyone else spend ages doing this job or is it just me.
Any tips on how to hurry the process up would be much appreciated. :T
Thanks.

snap ive spent best part of the afternoon doing the same thing. Although now the mse (and environmental) way. Previously I would have had all the presents with matching paper, gift tags etc, this year I have purchased just 2 rolls and have used up the remenants of last years paperfinally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0

I have been doing that today too, I have wrapped, tagged and placed in family bags around 30 presents. I have never done this so early before so I am feeling really good tonight!
No tips on making it faster except I have used the gift boxes I bought(for pennies) in the post Xmas sale last year for DVDs and PS2 games and when selecting presents I put some thought into how easy they would be to wrap!0 -
I can usually manage a couple of hours at a time before I start losing the plot. I've had 3 sessions at the moment, not too much left to do now. The worst part is writing the labels. Usually start off "To.... Have a lovely Christmas, with lots of love from......" Ends up "To.... From...." - IYKWIM.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0 -
My only tip would be try and wrap as you buy, i always start with a pile of gifts that ive acumilated (sp) over the year, which can take quite a while, but once i start my 'proper' christmas shopping, i try to wrap the same night ive bought it, mind you, i always write down what ive wrapped as i wrap it because a couple of years ago i forgot what i had bought, and on christmas eve when i brought it all down, i wasnt sure what half of it was!!!!! mind you, a nice surprise for me as well as the children christmas morning!!!!0

I try and do a little bit of wrapping each night. It takes me ages as I always buy way too much for the kids. I don't bother with ribbons and bows, too much hassle.0

I only do ribbons and bows for the grownups, the kids don't care what it looks like as they rip any wrapping off as soon as it is handed to them
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Well done to everyone else who has either finished wrapping their pressies or who have at least started. Don't feel as bad now i know there are lots of other fellow MSE's doing the same job. Thanks for your repliesWhen life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile

How exactly are you meant to put sellotape on when your holding two ends of paper together which behave like the same poles of a magnet?0
-
I spread mine over weeks, cos I get bursts of wanting to do it and when I actually do, the enthusiasm wears off :rotfl:
Thankfully though it was all finished yesterday :T0 -
I used to wrap as I went along, but often had to undo one end to remind myself what I had bought. One year I found a wrapped present for my husband under the bed...I thought it was a waterproof padded jacket I had made him, but it seemed too heavy, so I opened one end. I don't know which of us was more startled: me, or our cat who, from the state of the jacket, had clearly been sleeping in there for weeks, WITHOUT undoing the sellotape.0
