Growing Peanuts

Has anyone ever tried growing peanuts ....... if yes did you use seeds or plants and what time of year did you plant etc etc

Didn't think it was warm enough for long enough here - that's why they only grow them in the southern parts of the US isn't it?

I stole some peanuts out of my mums parrot food for my son to try and grow out of 3 he has 2 plants about 6 inches high they were very slow to get started but are now doing great

my daughter planted one last week and its growing well,It was just an experiment as we were planting sunflowers from her lovebird seeds for the comp on here

I had some come up in my garden, squirrels planted from next door's bird feeder, as emiff6 says, not warm enough here to get a crop, but easy to grow, get some un - roasted in shell ones from greengrocer or pet shop, just remove shell & sow them
