I found this site a short time ago and think its fab, its helped me to save heaps of money and also provide me with some valuable advice over how to manage my finances etc. The thing that I do not like about this site is the fact that some people can be so rude. The lady that started this thread just wanted some advice so she could get some nice things for her children for xmas and some of the replies are just rude. Ie. how about contraception and also the reply......there is lots of stuff you just have to look. I just feel it is so uncessary. If you dont want to help......DONT....why people feel the need to make people feel rubbish and put them down is beyond me. Its the season of goodwill after all.

To the lady that started this tread may I wish you a very merry xmas to you and your family and I hope you find lots of useful tips on this site to make your childrens xmas a good one x

I agree with you Nicki, the site is great and it’s such a shame some people ruin it. I tend to be a bit of a lurker and vary rarely post as quite often I am afraid of repercussions and when I do post I find myself apologizing in case anyone gets cross with me! Silly isn’t it but I find some people’s comments very aggressive. I thought this was a site where everyone helped each other out? I have already seen 5 other rude posts tonight while looking through recent posts on ‘grabbit’ and ‘shop but don’t drop’. The thread on a cheap antler bag in staples makes horrible reading as someone decided to be nasty. I find it all so childish, (I secretly think they have nothing better to do with their time and pity them)

Don't let them get you down

Anyway wishing you all the best this Christmas!

I’m hoping to get free cinema tickets (keep an eye on the free ticket thread) for my little one. They are so expensive now! But can never get any for in Kent!

Oh there is also a great post somewhere about how to make slime? Martin posted it a while ago (I will try to find it out in a link), you can put ingredients in a box for a slime kit! My daughter thought it was wonderful! Also home made bath bombs go down a treat (and ingredients tend to be in the cupboard!) google for recipes and you will find lots!

  • gosh some people are so rude on here the lady has 4 children not 14! I only have one child and I am skint - does that me make a bad mother at xmas?

Anyway I got my son a bubble console - they are selling them with game inlcuded for £15 in lots of stores - we have tried it and it looks pretty good.

Also log onto Babyworld as their is a budget forum there wth lots of friendly people who save me a fortune!

My daughter also received her Christmas card and book and its great! She loved it all the more because it was addressed to her and she loves receiving freebies in the post almost as much as I do!

It's called freedom of speech. Most of the things that people are finding offensive I'm finding funny. Its hard to interpret how someone meant a post when its written, I think your assuming the worst of people. You should try assuming the best it might change the way you treat people.
  • Hey Guys? Season of goodwill and all that!! Some good statements, most trying to help the lady, why is there a few that are just plain nasty? I too have four children 2,4,6 and 10. I start buying in Jan- right through to Sept. Not always about money. Some free things usually make great stocking fillers and are played with more than something that cost lots of money! I totally agree with an earlier comment about being cautious when posting for fear of what someone may reply!! Shouldn't be like that...Oh, and all mine were planned too..... ! Merry Christmas to all of you anyway! x
