Group 1 does not mean its cheaper to insure than a group 2 or 3 car.

Corsa = boy racers choice = higher premiums.

Phone every company in the book and online quotes. Ask them what cars come out cheaper for youngsters.

We did this for my sister, Fiat Panda was the cheapest with them.

Don't go by insurance groups they seem pretty meaningless these days. There is a forum search function you know. :p

Also consider a Kia Picanto and Nissan Micra.

as daft as it may sound, go for an estate car. :rotfl:insurance might not be as high as younger drivers tend to go for small cars.

I wish I had applied that logic when I was 17. Would have loved a Volvo 245 estate or such like. :D

I would work out what can be insured cheapest and then work back from there.

My thinking being no point looking at any car until you are certain to be able to insure it.
