Bottles of good wine can be as little as €2.

A large beer (super bock, sagres) is around €2-€3.

Look out for Prato do dia (dish of the day special) starter, main and wine for €10.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Algarve/Albufeira is no different to anywhere else - avoid the tourist traps and it's fairly cheap.
lagoslife's prices are easily achievable (menu of the day much cheaper if you know where to look).
Self catering is very cheap and is what I would recommend (depending on family circumstances), as half board can be very pricey.
Still pubs/bars where you can get a large beer for under 1.5 euro, especially during the day.
