hi
i was going to apply for a dro but few months ago i got informed off a near £2500 overpayment of housing benefits:eek::eek:
this not puts me over the £15000. can i leave this overpayment off? as they are taking payments off my weekly entitlement?
i really can not raise bf fees.
what would happen if i did leave it out?
thank you

The overpayment is a qualifying debt as far as I know, and as such you cannot leave it off.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yes, Fermi's right. I'm sure there have been occasions where debts have been accidentally omitted but to deliberately omit a debt in order to bring your application under the limit is not on.
Apart from the order being revoked if discovered, with the loss of the fee, you could face further action and so could your intermediary if found to have 'colluded' with you.
Apart from that, why would you want to retain a £2500 debt???
